Hi Guys, look on the school website under woodpeckers page and you will see the parts!!! 😃
Inspired by the Sunday Times we have been writing Small Ad's Big Stories in our literacy warm ups. We have 5 minutes to write a story based around an object for sale on ebay. The object is pot luck and it's whatever comes up first. this time we got Steven Gerard's football boots and a pop up pink princess castle! Here are some of our stories. We've measured the garden, drawn maps to scale and now we're putting our designs onto google sketch up. Seriously amazed at the talent in this class! The Life of Jamie Oliver Jamie Oliver was born on the 27th of May 1975 in Cambridge. He is a fantastic chef. He is also a big TV star for a show the called The Naked Chef. In 1975, at the age of eight, Jamie Oliver had got himself working in his mum and dad’s restaurant / pub. His mum, Sally, and his dad, Trevor, work in their pub, the Cricketers .Jamie Oliver disliked school because he was dyslexic. After Jamie Oliver left school, he went to catering collage which inspired him to cook. In 1999, at the age of 25, Jamie Oliver opened a show called The Naked Chef. One year later, in 2000, he married a lovely women called Juliet Norton. A few years later he had four children. The first was Poppy Honey Rosie Oliver, a year later came Daisy Boo Pamela Oliver, 5 years after that came Petal Blossom Rainbow Oliver, then, finally, came Buddy Bear Maurice Oliver. In 2008 Jamie Oliver spoke to the government about healthy school meals. In 2010 Jamie Oliver started a kitchen garden project for schools and he visited most of the schools which competed. In 2013 it was a very busy year for Jamie Oliver with the 2nd Food Revolution Day. He does this to make people eat healthier food. In that same year, Jamie Oliver made Food-tube, which is a program like YouTube, but it searches for cooking talent. Also he ran a cook show called Jamie’s 30 minute meals. Jamie still inspires young and old people to cook today. He is a great chef. He continues to live with his wife (Juliet) and his kids (Poppy, Daisy, Petal and Buddy) and he is planning to have a fifth child. By Freiya The life of Jamie Oliver
Jamie Oliver was born on the 27th May 1975, and grew up in Cambridge, with his mother Sally Oliver, father Trevor Oliver, his sister Anna Marie Oliver and finally Ian Oliver, his brother .He is a brilliant, amazing Naked Chef. Also he has a TV show called The Naked Chef. He is still alive today. In 1983, at the age of eight, he worked for pocket money, at his parent’s pub\restaurant. That was the thing that made him love cooking so much .His parents pub\restaurant was called The Cricketers .As a teenager , he went to catering collage,(of course that was when he sixteen). Sadly he was dyslexic, which made him have a hard time learning. Soon afterwards, in 1999, that was when he was 25, he became a famous chef and had his own TV show called the naked chef (of course). In 2000, that is 1 year later he got married to a woman called Juliette Norton, she sometimes gets called Jools. Many years later, he had four kids called, Daisy Boo Pamela Oliver and Poppy Honey Rosie Oliver and Buddy Bear Maurice Oliver and even another one called Petal Blossom Rainbow Oliver. Do you know something, he named all his kids after flowers. In 2010 he started his kitchen garden project for schools and visited most schools that had entered the fabulous competition. 2013, was a busy year for Jamie because of his 2nd food revolution day.Jamies ambition for food revolution is for people to eat healthier and he thinks people will eat healthier by: children \ parents cooking more at home and freshly cooked meals at school and even cooking with the community. In that very same year he created food tube, (you might have heard of something like it) it’s a bit like YouTube. You might have guessed something like that. Jamie Oliver is still alive today and still lives very healthfully. Lives with his wife, Jools and happy kids’ .Can’t wait to hear more, and is planning to have a fifth child. I don’t know what he might call his fifth child (if he has another one), nobody knows, but he might. Anyway Jamie inspires lots of people over the world .You might be one of them, does he inspire you? This term's hook is The Kitchen Garden Project. We are now affiliated with the Jamie Oliver Kitchen and will be redesigning the school garden area with the aim of being a fully functioning kitchen garden. http://padlet.com/nls27/rum9amlx7cs1 We'd love it if you could tell us what you think! In Flanders Fields the poppies grow,
By each other row on row. The poppies blowing in the wind, Heads drooped like they had sinned. In Flanders Fields. We had a family short days ago, Now we’re right down below. We saw the sunset rising high, Fought our battle until we died. In Flanders Fields. We fought for you so remember us, Remember us in you we trust. We have tried our best to win, So please don’t put it in the bin. In Flanders Fields the poppies grow. On Monday we went to Bishops wood to learn about Anglo Saxons. We wanted to find out how they lived because we want to build an Anglo Saxon Village on Minecraft.
During the day we learnt how they made brooches. They did this by bending copper into a pattern and hammering it on an anvil, which is a metal plate. Also we span sheep’s wool to make long lengths of wool. Then we did fence weaving with willow to make a fence to keep their animals in. Later that day we went into the Great Hall where the warriors would have slept. It was very smoky and claustrophobic inside! We also tried saxon bread. Some children didn’t like it, but we thought it was YUMMY! Finally we built a hunters shelter in the woods. We made an A frame and then lent sticks against it and then covered it in bracken and mud. We were good at this because we cooperated and worked as a team (you can see the photos on the blog). Also we do forest school and build a lot of dens! It was a great day and we have lots of ideas for our Minecraft world! Ruby |
